Squibble Terms of Service

Last updated: June 8, 2026

Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your use of Squibble (“we”, “us”, or “our”), operated by Paul Lacarriere, accessible at squibble.pro. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms.

1. The service

Squibble is an AI-powered platform that helps students find and contact academic researchers. It uses AI to discover relevant faculty profiles, draft personalized outreach emails based on your academic profile, and send those emails from your Gmail account. It also monitors your inbox for replies and classifies them automatically. You remain responsible for all emails sent through your account.

Important: Professor information (including lab focus, contact details, and research availability) is sourced from publicly available faculty pages and may not be current or accurate. AI-generated emails are drafts and should be reviewed by you before sending. Squibble does not warrant the accuracy of any faculty profile data.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Squibble. Users under 13 may not create accounts. By using the service, you represent that you meet this requirement. If we discover that an account belongs to a user under 13, we will delete that account and any associated data.

3. Your account

You sign in via Google OAuth. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Do not share your account with others.

4. Acceptable use

You agree to use Squibble only for legitimate academic research outreach. You may not use the service to:

  • Send spam, bulk unsolicited messages, or emails unrelated to academic research
  • Harass, threaten, or impersonate any person
  • Violate any applicable law or regulation
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or interfere with the service
  • Use the service on behalf of a third party without their knowledge

All outreach sent through Squibble is intended to be individual, one-to-one academic correspondence. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, at our sole discretion.

5. Gmail access

By connecting your Gmail account, you authorize Squibble to:

  • Send emails on your behalf to professors you select and approve through the campaign flow.
  • Read your inbox to detect and classify replies from professors you contacted through the service. This is done automatically in the background via a Gmail inbox notification subscription.

You can revoke this access at any time via your Google account settings at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Revoking access will disable email sending and reply tracking. Squibble does not read, store, or process emails unrelated to professors contacted through the service.

Squibble's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. For more information, see our Privacy Policy at squibble.pro/privacy.

6. Payments and plans

Squibble offers three tiers:

  • Free. Includes 3 professor searches and 2 personalized emails at no charge. No credit card required.
  • Standard ($15, one-time). Adds 30 professor searches and 30 personalized emails to your account.
  • Plus ($25, one-time). Adds 75 professor searches and 75 personalized emails to your account.

All paid plans are one-time purchases. There are no subscriptions or recurring charges. Searches and emails are added to your account balance and do not expire. All payments are processed by Stripe. By purchasing a plan, you agree to Stripe's terms of service.

7. Refunds

All purchases are final. We do not offer refunds except in the following circumstances:

  • Service malfunction. If a bug in our service causes searches or emails to be deducted without the corresponding action completing (no professors found, no email sent), we will issue a partial or full credit or refund at our discretion depending on the extent of the issue.
  • Incorrect deduction. If you were charged more searches than the number of professors available for a given faculty page, we will refund the difference.
  • Extended service unavailability. If the service is inaccessible for more than 48 consecutive hours and you were unable to use searches or emails you paid for, we may issue a partial refund at our discretion.

To request a refund, contact us at contact@squibble.pro with a description of the issue. We review all requests and respond within 5 business days.

8. No guarantee of results

Squibble automates the outreach process but does not guarantee any particular outcome, including responses from professors, offers of research positions, or acceptance into any program. Response rates depend on factors entirely outside our control, including individual professors' availability, interest, and workload. Purchasing a plan is not a guarantee of results.

Additionally, Squibble does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or currency of any faculty profile information. AI-generated email drafts should be reviewed by you before sending.

9. Intellectual property

Squibble and its content, features, and functionality are owned by Paul Lacarriere. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the service without written permission. You retain ownership of all content you provide, including your profile information and resume. We use your profile information solely to personalize the emails drafted on your behalf.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

Squibble is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. Your use of the service is at your own risk.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Paul Lacarriere and Squibble shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of or inability to use the service, including but not limited to lost opportunities, lost data, or dissatisfaction with outreach results. Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months prior to the claim.

12. Termination

You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. Upon termination, your right to use the service ceases immediately. You may request deletion of your data by emailing contact@squibble.pro.

We retain your profile data and outreach history for up to 30 days following an account deletion request, after which it is permanently removed from our systems. Certain data may be retained longer if required by law or for fraud prevention purposes.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a notice on squibble.pro. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

15. Contact
